As we strive to improve our online students’ experience, we acknowledge the challenges associated with receiving your books and course materials in both a timely and efficient manner. Therefore, in light of the recent changes in policy regarding the purchasing of text books, we have prepared this information to serve as a guide in the facilitation of your textbooks. Jackson State University now offers online students the options of purchasing their own textbooks directly from the JSU Campus Bookstore or purchasing textbooks through alternative routes such as online bookstores and retail outlets.
Below we have provided courtesy information to assist you with making your textbook purchases. Choose the option that works best for you, but make sure you ORDER YOUR BOOKS TODAY!
Please complete this process correctly to ensure delivery of your textbooks.
Step 1: Visit the JSU bookstore at (Click on URL Link) http://www.bkstr.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StoreCatalogDisplay?catalogId=10001&langId=-1&demoKey=d&storeId=10444
Step 2: Click on “Sign In” located at the top left of the page. If you are a RETURNING USER, type in your email address and password, then click “Login”. If you are a NEW USER, click on “Register”, complete the required fields marked with an * then click “Create Account” located at the bottom of the page.
Step 3: Selecting textbooks
- Mouse –over the “Books” tab, and click on “Textbooks & Course Materials”
- Select Your term (Spring 2012)
- Select your department (i.e., College Algebra is equal to MATH)
- Select your course (i.e., 111, 101, 301 etc)
- Select your section (01 default)
- Submit
Once you have submitted your request, the books associated with your course will be displayed in the Course Material(s) section. Identify the correct book(s) and, click the “Add to Cart” button.
Next you must either proceed to checkout by selecting either the GO TO CART or ADD ANOTHER COURSE button.
If you choose the ADD ANOTHER COURSE option, please follow the previous steps. If you are finished click the GO TO CART button.
Step 4: Shipping
- Make sure the textbooks listed are accurate. If the textbooks listed in the PRODUCT DETAILS section are incorrect, delete the textbooks and begin the textbook selection process from the beginning.
If the textbooks listed are correct make sure that you have the correct number of textbooks listed in the QTY box.
Once the textbook and quantity have been confirmed choose your textbook preference (i.e. new vs. used) this will ensure that your textbooks order is filled based on textbook availability and condition.
- Select your “Delivery Options”
- Choose whether you want to pickup or have your textbooks mailed. Your books will be shipped to you immediately. You will have the option to select “Next Day Air Shipment” or “Ground Delivery.” Depending on your selection of delivery option, your books may arrive next day or up to 5 business days. Please note, books will not be delivered to a P.O. Box.

Step 5: Payment
- Under the Payment Info section, select Payment Type ( credit card, gift card)
- Enter card information (name, card #, pin, etc.)
- Confirm everything is accurate and continue to check out.
Textbooks are available in hard copy only. Please note that the bookstore has been notified regarding the above mentioned changes, therefore eliminating the need to call. Kindly complete the above steps and your order will be processed upon receipt.

The ISBN (International Standard Book Number) is unique to each book. Remember no two books will have the same ISBN, so when in doubt, please use the ISBN as a guide.
